Billy Dean Ashby, 70, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on June 27, 2012. Bill was a very smart and sweet man who knew the Bible well. He loved fishing and most of all his four legged companions.

Bill was born on August 11, 1941 in Freetown, Indiana to the late James and Mereda (McCaffrey) Ashby. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Dottie Ashby; siblings, James Ashby and Ronnie Gibbs.

He is survived by his wife, Ann (Byrd) Ashby; children, Billy (Pam), Christine, and Phillip Ashby, Michael Miller, Jessica M., Melissa, Matthew, Jessica R. (Brent) Ashby, Krystal Akers, Ashley and Samantha Adams; siblings, Rose Carroll, Doris Marie Heavrin, Carol Waters, Susie Beickman, Linda Ashby, Randa Wike, Barbara Gibbs, Glen Ashby; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His Visitation will be 4 to 8 PM Friday, June 29, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and after 12 PM on Saturday. His Funeral Service will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
