Billie Russell "Big Bill from Louisville" Logsdon, 65, passed away on April 28, 2015. He graduated in 1968 from Pleasure Ridge Park High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps. as a field radio operator receiving a honorable discharge with combat service in Vietnam from November 1970 to May 1971, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Vietnam Service Medal with star. He enjoyed going to Churchill Downs watching the horses run and could place a bet with the best of them. His days were spent doing what he loved the most, spending time with his Short Stuff, Bug and his Buddy Ole Pal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Dorothy Logsdon, brothers, Sammy Logsdon, Jimmy Logsdon, Charles Logsdon and Richard Logsdon and sister, Samantha Logsdon.
Billie is survived by his daughter, Hollie (Ronnie) Perkins; grandchildren, Taylor Perkins and Joseph Perkins; ex-wife, Mary Jo Logsdon; step-daughter, Pamela Logsdon; step-grandchildren, Heather Baker and Jonathan Scamahorn;4 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Eddie Logsdon; sisters, Janet (Johnny) Campbell, Paula (Larry) Rutledge, Beverly (Jim) Linkous and Kathy (Chester) Davis and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 3. 2015, from 11am-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (SW Louisville Chapel) and Monday, May 4, 2015, from 9am-11am with a celebration of Billie's life beginning at 11am.
Burial will be at Brookland Cemetery, 4895 Preston Highway, Shepherdsville, KY.
