Betty "Sue" Loy

Betty "Sue" Loy, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, graced this world with her presence from August 19, 1947, until she went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2025. Born Betty England, she carried the love of her family and the love of music throughout her life.

Sue dedicated many years to her career as a beautician, where she not only enhanced the beauty of those around her but also shared her vibrant spirit. Her true passion, however, lay in music. It was her greatest joy-a gift that she cherished deeply and shared generously. Whenever the opportunity arose, Sue would bless gatherings with her beautiful voice, bringing comfort and joy to everyone who had the privilege of listening.

A long-time member of Sunnyside Assembly of God in Jeffersonville, Sue found community and connection through her faith. She embraced life fully, filled with laughter, music, and the love of her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 53 years, Max Loy, who stood by her side through all of life's moments. Their bond was a testament to the meaning of love and partnership. Together, they filled their home with faith in Jesus and love for one another, raising their son, Michael Loy, and welcoming his wife, Jess, into the family fold. Sue’s love extended further with her grandchildren, Austin, Jaden, Mia, and Maverick, each a shining star in her life whom she adored. Sue is also survived by her brother, Mike (Debbie) England; and her sister, Trish (James) Krog. 

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Jewell and Bernell England; along with her sisters, Margaret Allen and Nan Wright.

A Memorial Gathering will be from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Memorial Service will be at 5:00 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Sue's wishes.
