Betty Lou (Brooks) Sherrard went to be with Jesus on July 16th, 2012.
Betty Lou was the daughter of the late Annie L (Baker) Brooks and Bennie T. Brooks. She was preceded in death by two sisters, the late Barbara Jean and Brenda Louise, and four late brothers Elbert, Dave, Will and Jimmy.
Betty's living survivors are her husband Billy "Whitie" Sherrard, one daughter Pamela Bennett Barr, and one son Donnie Dale. She had four grandchildren including granddaughters Melody Jo Barr of Louisville and Cheyenne Bennett of Prescott, Arizona. Betty had two grandsons Jeremy Dickinson and Jordan Barr, both of Louisville, and one brother, Hubert T. Brooks of Shelbyville.
Betty was a writer of both songs and lyrics. She recieved several awards, including awards from the Eddie Cotes Wide World Book of Poems. Betty recieved a Honorable Mention, Certificates, and Awards from Nashville for her writing talents, including the writing of her song "The Deer Hunter." Betty was a member of Evangel Church, as well as the Women's Club for Needy Children. Betty Lou had many friends who will always remember her as a loving friend. She will be remembered for her prayer for others, and kind words spoken. She will be missed, and will always, be in our hearts.
Visitation Services will be Friday, July 20th, 2012 from 3pm-7pm
Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 21st, 2012 at 11am
