Betty Jean (Moore) Patterson, 86, of Louisville, passed peacefully on December 26, 2020, after a progressive decline in health due to dementia. Born April 13, 1934 in Highland Park-Louisville, Betty was the fourth of five children born to the late Horace L. Moore and Virginia Draper Moore. Betty had a great love for her parents and siblings, and all family gatherings brought her tremendous joy. Betty spent the majority of her life as a full-time homemaker, and devoted wife and mother. In 1952 She married John E. Patterson, after his return serving in the Korean War. John and Betty had two sons, Gary E. Patterson and Eric A. Patterson.
Betty was a proud Christian woman who devoted her life to God and family. She faithfully attended and was a member of Highland Park and River City Church of God and Evangel World Prayer Center.
She was preceded in death by parents Horace Moore and Virginia Draper Moore, her husband of 49 years, in 2002, John E. Patterson; by brothers Horace "Buck" Moore and Ernest Moore, and sister Marcella Gray. She leaves to honor her memory brother Hubert "Ed" Moore (Betty); sons Gary E. Patterson (Juana) and Eric A. Patterson (Hope), grandchildren Maggie Patterson (Logan), Garett Patterson, Luke Patterson, and great-grandchild Taylor Jones, all of Louisville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements and visitation will be private for family on Thursday December 31, 2020 at Newcomer East Louisville, with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
