Betty Jean(Phipps) Midkiff

Betty J. (Phipps) Midkiff, 84, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, formerly of Riverview, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. She was a very active member in the community where she lived for over 40 years. She served in various civic organizations and was a co-founder of the Concerned Citizens of Gibsonton, FL.

Betty was born on February 16, 1929 in Jeffersonville to the late Granville I., Sr. and Alberta L. (Norman) Phipps. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Harry R. Phipps, Granville I. Phipps, Jr., and Helen L. Warman.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Sue Dunn; foster daughter, Tiffany Stratton; sister, Margaret "Vicky" Newby; grandchildren, John "Buddy" Dunn (Tonya), Tony Dunn (Shelly), Kelly Dunn; great-grandchildren, Gage Dunn, Brant Dunn, Kennedy Smith; great-great-grandson, Carson Porter; and many friends in the Tampa area that she dearly loved and missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Parkway Southern Baptist Church (2508 Corydon Pike, New Albany, IN 47150). Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with Betty's care.
