Betty Jean(Dorsey) Miles

Betty J. (Dorsey) Miles, 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed peacefully from life the afternoon of October 3,2013 after a gradual decline in health. Betty was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Betty was born in Perkin, AR. but has been a Hoosier since 2010. In 1967, Betty and her husband, Willie Miles, moved to Michigan to raise their nine children, where years later, after the death of her husband, Betty decided to relocate to Indiana, There she lived the remainder of her life. Betty is survived by eight children: Alvin Dorsey, Johnny Miles, Bruce Miles, Sandra (John) Miles, Terri (Chris) Miles, Carol Miles, Jackie (Dennis) Horton, and Richie Miles, twenty-four grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Betty is also survived by her sister Dorothy Cohen of Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Miles, and her Daughter Linda Miles.

Visitation will be from 11 to 12 PM Friday, October 11, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her Funeral Service being held at 12 PM.
