Betty Gene Montgomery

Elizabeth "Betty Gene" Montgomery, age 88 of Louisville, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013. She was a homemaker, former member of the old Broadway Methodist Church, an original member of Christ Church United Methodist, member and historian for the United Methodist Women and was a former secretary with the Southeast Civic Club. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gerald Montgomery; step-daughter, Betty Ann Smith; and her parents Eugene and Elizabeth Olmstead Eblen; half-sister, Margaret Eblen Crane; and half-brother, Clifford Eblen.

Betty Gene is survived by three children, Jim Montgomery (Mary), Debbie McMeans (Walter) and Cheryl Busch (Jim); step-daughter, Mary Jo Zellich; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Christ Church United Methodist, 4614 Brownsboro Road with interment to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive and after 10am Monday at the church.
