Beth L. Pointer, 61, of Louisville, passed away on July 14, 2013.
A memorial reception will be held at the Highlands Bristol, 1308 Bardstown Road, between 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 17, at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow the funeral at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington at 1:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Newcomer Funeral Home.

Beth was born in Columbus, GA, on July 17, 1951. She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Alabama. She was a librarian, musician, animal lover, and a member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. She retired from the Louisville Free Public Library, having served at the Shelby Park, Shawnee, and Portland branches.

Beth is survived by her long-time companion, Cliff Amos, Jr. of Louisville, stepsons Craig Amos of Yorktown, VA and Robert Amos of Raleigh, NC, six grandchildren, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Loffredo of Columbus, GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Kentucky Humane Society, 1000 Lyndon Lane, Suite B, Louisville, KY 40222.
