Bertie Johanna (Bassing) Hall, 80, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023. She was a longtime member of Underwood Baptist Church and the Indiana Homemakers Association.
She was born on July 6, 1942, in Racine, Wisconsin, to August II and Jenet (Stoddard) Bassing. In addition to her parents, Bertie was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hall; and siblings, Staff Sgt. August Bassing III and Jan Rae Anis.
Bertie is survived by her children, Belinda Logan, Sheila Theriault (Rick), Cindy Rose, David Rose, and Deidra Harris (Bradley); stepchildren, Rick Hall, Phillip Hall (Jackie), Todd Hall (Theresa), and Kaye Morris (Joe); twenty-one grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Bertie's wish was to be cremated, and a celebration of her life will take place at Underwood Baptist Church (22817 West Street, Underwood, IN 47177) on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with her care.
