In Loving Memory of Bertha J. Jones

10/03/1948 – 02/18/2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Bertha J. Jones, at the age of 76, who peacefully departed on Tuesday February, 18. Bertha was a woman whose life was marked by grace, humility, and a free-hearted spirit that touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

As a mentor and teacher, Bertha excelled in her ability to guide and inspire others. Her talent for imparting knowledge was matched only by her empathetic and kind nature, making her a cherished figure in the lives of many. Her wisdom, delivered with grace and humility, shaped the lives of countless individuals, and her influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Bertha was driven by an inner strength and purpose, always striving to do her best in everything she set out to accomplish. Whether in her personal or professional life, she brought a level of excellence that was admired by all who knew her. A lady of class, she carried herself with dignity, leaving a lasting impression with her warm presence.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Trabue and Dorothy Mae Trabue; and her three brothers Edward Trabue, Meredith Trabue and Ronald Lee Trabue .

She was a devoted wife to beloved husband of 57 years, Steve Jones, a loving mother to, Stephanie Mack ( Stepphone),   and a doting grandmother to Grandson, Stephen J. Mack, a sister to, Anita L. (Michael) Johnson, and  Faith Conley. Bertha leaves to cherish her memory many loving nieces, nephews, friends and family.  She was a constant source of love, support, and encouragement. Her family was the center of her world, and she made each of them feel uniquely loved and cherished.

Bertha was a devout member of Green Castle Baptist Church. She was a God-fearing woman whose faith and spirituality shaped every aspect of her life. She lived by the principles of love, compassion, and selflessness, and leaves behind a legacy of unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

In her memory, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life full of love, laughter, and the enduring lessons she imparted to each of us. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her influence will continue to guide and inspire us.
