Mrs. Bernice Neal Sumner Finney, age 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 13, 2010 surrounded by her daughter and family.
She was retired from G.E. and a long time member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, she loved her church and church family and worked tirelessly for the Lord. She cherished her family, especially the little ones, and was known as "Aunt Nanny" to many nieces, nephews and special friends. Bernice touched so many lives and will be remembered by all who were graced by her prescence. Love you to the moon and back Bernice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.W.Finney; her parents, Burn and Venice Sumner; siblings, Louise Fleming, Euvaline Hundley, Ervaline Burke, Matty Lee Parsons and J.W.Sumner.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise J. Finney; and a brother, Bill Cooke Sumner.
A celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16th at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with visitation 2 - 7 p.m. on Monday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive. Burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
