Bernard Heuser, III, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on December 19, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was an army veteran serving in WWII. Bernard retired from Container Corporation and was a long-time member of Grace Immanuel United Church of Christ in Louisville.
He was born on November 20, 1921, in Louisville to the late Bernard, Jr. and Wilhelmina (Wagner) Heuser. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth L. "Kitty" (Brown) Heuser.
He is survived by his children, Sue Johnson (Spencer), Judy Davis (Jim), Peggy Koch (Frank), Bernie Heuser, Bob Heuser (Darlene); 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen following Bernard's wishes. Private burial will take place on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, KY. Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) is handling the arrangements.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Mt. Holly Nursing Home, particularly nurses Erin Farney and Ketelyn Fischer, as well as Bernard's son-in-law, Jim Davis, for the love and care shown to him over the last several years. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
