Benjamin Cornelius Wright

Benjamin C. Wright was born on May 4, 1933 in Louisville, KY to Benjamin H. Wright and Lydia Bell Wright. He was affectionately called Junior or Ben, was the oldest of three children and brother to William and Jerome Wright.

Ben graduated from Central High School where he was an excellent student. Unfortunately, college opportunities were limited. However, he became a skilled plumber and factory worker. Early in his life he enjoyed music, dancing and roller skating. Later, he thoroughly enjoyed reading and conducting library research about various subject areas. He also developed a love for technology and maximized his knowledge through the use of the computer to stay abreast of the news of the day.

Benjamin C. Wright passed away on March 5, 2014. He was the father of six children: Clifford Wright, Clifton Wright, Bernard Wright, Patricia Thompson, Sandra Wright and Anthony Wright.
In addition to his children, the memory of Benjamin C. Wright will be preserved by a host of grandchildren, great–grandchildren, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and close friends. He also leaves a devoted friend, Ms. Cleaster Johnson. He has one surviving brother, Jerome Wright.

Visitation for Ben will be Monday, March 10, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) from 11:30am - 12:30pm with services beginning at 12:30pm.

Interment will be at Green Meadows Memorial Gardens.
