Benita Leatrice Dawson

Benita “Nikki” Dawson's life began on October 22, 1973 to her late parents Ben and Carol Walton Dawson in Louisville, Kentucky. Nikki was called home and departed this life on May, 31 2024.

Nikki received her education at Seneca and Jefferson County High School.
Nikki went on to work as a unit secretary and continued throughout her career in Customer Service.

Nikki accepted Christ at an early age, and grew up in Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church.

Nikki never met a stranger, and genuinely enjoyed her life. You could always find Nikki singing, hosting barbeques, get togethers, trying new restaurants and throwing down in the kitchen. Nikki loved spending time with her family and friends. Nikki was affectionately called “Nie-Nie” by her grandkids and “Honny” by her nephews and nieces.

Nikki joins her parents; Ben Dawson and Carol Crum, her grandparents, niece, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Nikki leaves her memory to cherish with her children; Jazmine, Janeisha, Jamurrel, Jernesto and Jalynn. Grandchildren, Brother, Sisters, Brothers-in-law, Dad, Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, New Albany Indiana Chapel, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
