Belinda G. Sutton

Belinda Gaile Sutton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, peacefully passed away on August 31 2024, in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, at the age of 72. Born on June 13, 1952, Belinda dedicated much of her life to her family, where her kindness and desire to help others shone through in every interaction.

Belinda’s greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. Family gatherings and holidays stood out as the highlights of her life, with those occasions filled with love and laughter, where all her loved ones gathered under one roof.

Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, as she always strived to lend a helping hand to those around her. Belinda touched many lives with her warmth and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

In her leisure time, Belinda found solace in drawing, gardening, and spending time with horses, as well as enjoying the peace of being at the lake. These simple joys nourished her soul and allowed her to create beautiful memories that she would share with her family.

Belinda is survived by her loving husband, Ken Sutton; daughters, Gidgett (Raymond) Lehr and Amanda (Brian) Hoffman; son, Chadwick (Katie) Sutton; grandchildren, Brittany (Adam), Andrew (Sydney), Madison, Marshall, Elijah, Memphis, and Addilyn; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Tobias, and Avalynn; sister, Joanna Seay; brother, Danny (Diane) Vermillion; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Alma Vermillion, and her siblings, Doris, Roxie, Johnny, Carol, Barbara, Donnie, and Shirley. Their memories, alongside Belinda's vibrant spirit, will forever remain alive in the hearts of those she left behind.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany, IN and Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A memorial service will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the funeral home.

The family requests that contributions in Belinda’s memory be made to Vanderbilt Hospital Cancer Center or Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
