Barry Bruce Barnes, 81, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. He retired from Ford Motor Company and was the longtime owner of BB Tax & Bookkeeping. Barry was a member, as well as the former president, of the Kentucky American Saddlebred Pleasure Horse Association.
He was born on March 2, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to Leonard and Geneva (Childers) Barnes. Along with his parents, Barry was preceded in death by his wife, Sammye (Daily) Barnes.
Barry is survived by his children, Kevin Barnes (Debbie), Kelly Popp; grandchildren, Ryan Barnes (Mary Kate), Christian Barnes, Michaela Stoker, Lauren Keene (Sam), Nathan Wimsatt (Kayla Munsky); great-grandchildren, Wyatt Keene, Lilly Keene, Hudson Powell, Hadley Wimsatt; sister-in-law, Tena Lutz; and nephew, Donald Lutz (Missy).
He will be laid to rest privately at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville. Contributions in Barry's memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
