Barron Dean "Barry" Skaggs, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

He was born on June 27, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky to Daniel Skaggs and Doris (Bell) Skaggs Abbott. He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Skaggs, brother, Dale Skaggs, step father, Donald McDonald and his granddaughter, Jade Alford.

Barry attended Valley Station Elementary School along with Stuart Junior High and High School (Class of 1977). Barry was a lifelong Manager in the Auto Parts Industry. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, UK Basketball, and everything JEEP. Barry liked listening to classic country music and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. Barry will be remembered for always trying to be a "friend to all". He was a simple man that loved and took care of his family; they were everything to him.

Barry is survived by his loving mother, Doris Skaggs Abbott, daughters, Leighana J. Skaggs, Whitney D. Skaggs, and their mother Anna Thrasher, grandchildren, Dayton Blair, Ava Skaggs, Reganne Alford, Brandon Alford , Jr.,and Jaylynn Amon, his life partner, Donna Amon, brother, Daniel Carl (Amanda) Skaggs , Sr., nieces and nephews, Daniel Skaggs , Jr., Tonya Skaggs, Amanda Skaggs, Andrea Wyndham, and Ashley Wright, his aunts and uncles, along with his faithful companion, Lucille.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 3rd and 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 4th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). A service celebrating his life will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens in Cecilia, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Barry's memory be made to Shirley's Way.
