Barbara Jean Turner

Barbara Jean Turner, age 71 of Louisville, departed this life on Monday, March 12, 2018. She was born in Henry County in Smithfield, Kentucky on October 15, 1946 to the late Louis and Flora Ritchie. Barbara confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and joined the First Baptist Church of LaGrange, Kentucky, where she worked faithfully there until moving to Louisville. She then joined First Baptist Church of Anchorage where she was a current member. Barbara is also preceded in death by her sisters, Lavern Brown and Etta Parks; brothers, Floyd Ritchie, Louis Ritchie, Jr. and Donnie Ritchie.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her brothers, Charles E. Ritchie (Shirley), Arthur L. Ritchie (Ruth) and Willie L. Ritchie (Valerie) and Frank Jordan (Margaret); sister, Betty Ann Ritchie; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 4-8pm on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, and 12pm -1pm on Saturday, March 24th at First Baptist Church of Anchorage, 11500 Lagrange Rd, Louisville, KY 40223. A celebration of Barbara's life will be 1pm at the church, followed by burial in Berrytown Cemetery.
