Barbara Jean Sheeler

Barbara Jean Sheeler, age 80 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023. She was born in Binghamton New York to the late Clyde and Vivian Johns. She married Wayne Sheeler in 1969 in Rochester NY. Barbara worked as a nursing educator in early life. She then was the Christian Education Director at Brighton Presbyterian church. She retired as a Nurse Educator at Kirkhaven Nursing Home. Throughout her life she had a strong faith in God. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, twin sister, Betty (Peter) Ordeshook; older brother, Tommy (Louise) Johns; and older sister, Corrinne (Bob) Smith.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her son, Brian Sheeler (Heather); daughter, Diane Jewell (Steve); grandchildren, Andrew Sheeler (Abby), Patrick Jewell, Emmalee Sheeler, Katie Sheeler, Maggie Jewell and Michael Sheeler; many loved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

Two memorial celebrations are planned.

The first will be Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 10200 Shelbyville Rd. Louisville, KY. 40223.

The second is on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Grace Church 805 Blossom Rd Rochester NY 14610.
