Barbara Sue Poe

Barbara Sue Poe, 79, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

She was born on December 28, 1944 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Marshall Shutters and Mary Garvin Shutters. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Virgil, Tom, Marshall "Junie", Harold, Charles, and Donald Shutters; sisters, Phyllis Houglin and Janice Weingartner.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth Poe; children, David Poe, John (Theresa) Poe, and Jennifer Schuppert; grandchildren, Nevada, Sylvia, Camren, Hailey, Mallory and Olivia; great-grandsons, Izaiah and Xander; and siblings, Richard "Dickie" (Jan) Shutters, Ray Shutters, and Marilyn Rowley.

Barb loved children and enjoyed over 15 years as a cafeteria worker at Grant Line Elementary School. She was the center of family functions and shined when cooking and entertaining for family and friends. She was a very proud mother of 2 Marines.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
