Barbara Mckay

Barbara McKay, age 90 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022. Barbara was born June 27, 1931 in Shelbyville, IN to the late Burl and Georgia (Coakley) Stevens. Barbara was a devout Christian her entire life and a member of Hurstbourne Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at the time of her death. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents;
husband of 54 years Norman; and three brothers.

Barbara was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was a youth sports fan who spent countless hours running back and forth between practices and games across Jefferson County. Barbara loved to travel with her late husband and a host of friends. She was an avid card player, who played to win (and usually did) regardless of her opponent. Just ask those of us who have played against her.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her three sons, Steve (Karon), Mike (Shelly) and Todd (Waynette); four grandchildren, Anthony, Sydney, Cole and Micheal; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Harley; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm on Monday, April 11, 2022 and from 9:30 to 11 am on Tuesday, April 12th at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243). A celebration of Barbara's life will follow on Tuesday at 11am there. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Contributions in memory of Barbara can be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
