Barbara Jean Lindsey

Barbara Jean (Byrd) Lindsey, 75, of Clarksville, Indiana passed away on Saturday afternoon, June 19, 2010 at her residence in Clarksville with family at her side. Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother and was a member of Northside Christian Church in New Albany.

Barbara was born on June 1, 1935 in Barren County, Kentucky to the late Clyde and Elizabeth (Coomer) Byrd Measels. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Lindsey and brother, Wayne Byrd.

She is survived by her son, Rick Lindsey and his wife, Shirley of Floyds Knobs; daughter, Kathy Pierson of New Albany; brothers, Roger Byrd of New Albany and Rondall Byrd of Sellersburg; sisters, Martha Wagner and her husband, Don of Clarksville, Sue Rhea of New Albany, Carol Harvey of New Albany and Pam Ballew of Clarksville; grandchildren, Rickey Lindsey and his wife, Jennifer of Sellersburg, Shelli Lindsey of Floyds Knobs, Nick Pierson and his wife, Holly of New Albany and Ashley Lindsey of Sellersburg; and one great-grandchild, Ashton Lindsey.

Her visitation will be from 1 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Generations Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Barbara's Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Thursday, June 24, 2010 in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at Generations Funeral Home with entombment to follow at SCI Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
