Barbara Ann (Nash) Young Grauel, passed away on November 26, 2018. She was born in Denver, Colorado, on August 3, 1957, to Gloria Nash and the late Wilbur Nash, Jr., in the middle of two siblings, Ronald Nash and Thomas Nash. She attended St. Margaret Mary's Catholic School in Wichita, Kansas, where she had many friends. She graduated from New Albany High School in 1975 and thereafter married Carter Young. Barbara worked in administration for Louisville General Hospital and University of Louisville Hospital (now Humana) for over 30 years. In later years, she married Fred Grauel and moved to Depauw, Indiana, where they gardened and had a small farm.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; her two brothers; children, Ashley Young and Evan Young (Billie); stepsons, Brad Grauel (Chasity) and Jeremy Grauel(Angie); grandsons, Skyler Young and Landon Krow; step-grandchildren, Jacob, Mia, Lindsay, and Taylor Grauel, and Cody and Brooklyn Cotton; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) with a short service to follow. Barbara was cremated in accordance with her wishes.
