Barbara Dummer

Dummer, Barbara 70, precious wife of Gene Dummer, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father, with her beloved family by her side June 12.

Barbara and her husband, along with their lifelong friends Frank and Jan Neumann, established Louisville's Valu Market food stores in 1978. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, she leaves to cherish her memory, her three daughters, Debra Jordan (John), Kimberly Fox (Tom) and Kara Reilly (Chris); and six grandchildren, Amanda Jordan, Erica Johnson (Brandon), Niki and Jake Fox and Tanner and Taylor Reilly.

She will forever be remembered for her caring and generous spirit, her devotion to her family and friends and her faith in her Heavenly Father.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 1 PM Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Southeast Christian, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation after 10 AM at the Church.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus or the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
