Barbara Ann Chester
July 27, 1957 — July 23, 2021
Barbara Ann Chester, born July 27, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Thomas E. Chester Sr. and the late Betty L. Chester. She was the oldest of 9 siblings. She dedicated her life to Jehovah on October 3, 2009 in Frankfort, Kentucky at that time she spent 11 1/2 years preaching and teaching people about Jehovah God and His Kingdom.
Barbara was employed by Jefferson County Public Schools for 23 years as a Nutrition Assistant at McFerran Elementary School and was a loyal member of JCAESP Local Union 4011. The children at her school loved and adored her as the "cafeteria lady."
On July 22, 2021, after not being able to speak for some time, she wanted a party with her family. She told them how much she loved them and she was not afraid nor in any pain. After singing her two favorite songs, "Love and Happiness" and "Sweet Thang," on July 23, 2021, at 8:20am she fell asleep in death. Barbara believed in the Resurrection and knew she would be back on Earth to be with each and everyone of us if we come to love Jehovah the way she did.
Barbara leaves to cherish two amazing children: DeRay Antawan (Jamila) Chester, and Tameka Amilya (Gregory) Blakely, six grandchildren: Raymon, Jamell, Jamari, Caleb, Caysen, and Carter, five sisters: Crystal (Reynolds) Ashford, Lolita Sanders-Chester, Mamie Chester, Flecia Chester, and Clorrisa Chester Lynum, three brothers: Thomas Chester Jr.(deceased), James Chester, Romont (Dinetta) Chester, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 4:00-5:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Highway). Her Memorial Service will immediately follow at 5:00 pm on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel.
