Barbara Ann Bulleit

August 16, 1931 — March 2, 2024

Barbara Ann Bulleit, 92, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away in her home on the morning of March 2, 2024, a little past 10 a.m., surrounded by friends and family.

Barbara, known as Bobbi, was born on August 6, 1931 to Joseph and Vivian Limbach in Washington, D.C and immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Bobbi attended Presentation High School in Louisville, Kentucky as a top student, excelling in academics and fine arts. After graduation from high school, Bobbi chose to concentrate on her family and went on to mother 14 children, but never lost her dream of artistry. Bobbi became known to the ceramic's world as, "Bobbi," of the very successful studio, " Bobbi Ceramics," in New Albany and Floyds Knobs, Indiana. The studio operated successfully for nearly 50 years. Bobbi became known for her original works and created several finishes for her ceramics that have become well used and standards of the industry. Bobbi was regarded as not only one of the finest teachers, but among the top ceramicists in the entire nation. She taught ceramics in her studios and in grade schools, high schools, colleges, nursing homes, community centers-- wherever she was requested. She went on to pursue a number of certifications and ceramic industry degrees and remained a constant figure in the local ceramics community.

Bobbi fell in love with Louis Bulleit,18, when she was 17 years of age. They eloped and were inseparable from that point on, married for nearly 60 years until Louis's death, November of 2005. Together they had 14 children; Doug (Ronnie), Debbie, Jackie, Jeannie (Steve), Randy, Dan (RIP) (Susan), Terri (Jeff), M. Angie (Scott), Angie "AJ" (Bryan), James, Charlie, Joseph (Mary), Matthew & Mark (Tammy).

Bobbi was a fiercely dedicated mom to all of her children. Family was first with Bobbi and above all else, she was dedicated, till her death, to instill that loyalty in all those around her. The hole left by Barbara's absence is impossible to fill.
Bobbi was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, and her 6th born son, Dan. She is survived by her remaining 13 children, 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements for Bobbi are being handled by Newcomer, Southern Indiana Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the New Albany Animal Shelter.
