Barbara (Card) Brewster

With a heavy heart, we are sad to announce that on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the age of 83, Barbara (Card) Brewster passed away peacefully in her sleep at her daughter's home.
She was born September 8, 1938, in Wiscoal, Kentucky, to Vaughn and Lillian Sumner-Card. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Brewster, and her infant son, Paul Brian Brewster.
She is survived by her beloved poodle, Ms. Elli; sister, Marquetta Card (Jeffersonville, Indiana); children, Dena Standiford (Sellerburg, Indiana), Sheila Troncin (Sellersburg, Indiana), Donnetta Weis (Corydon, Indiana), Dale Brewster (Lisa) (Hickory, North Carolina), and Jim Brewster (Greta) (Ponce De Leon, Florida); grandchildren, Christopher Flickner, Courtney Standiford, Tiffany Hakimzadeh, Samantha Garg, Trey Troncin, Michaela Troncin, Jenna Clark, Lori Stroud, Brian and Sam Weis, Kaleb, Jack, and Dylan Brewster, and Jordan Johnson and Ben Brewster; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Barbara worked for Drs. Pope, Croft, McKain, and Fisher and retired after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the New Middletown United Methodist Church in New Middletown, Indiana.
The family would like to thank Dr. Anna Fisher, Kindred Health Care (Hospice), and Home Instead for their professional, caring, and dignified support during this very difficult time. They all demonstrated very high standards in her care, as well as the family's.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 21, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with the service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Barbara will be laid to rest at the New Middletown United Methodist Church Cemetery in New Middletown, Indiana.
Pallbearers will be Christopher and Carson Flickner, Brian and Sam Weis, Trey Troncin, and Kaleb Brewster; and honorary pallbearers will be Jack and Dylan Brewster.
