Barbara "Bobbie" Fisher

Barbara "Bobbie" Fisher, aged 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully departed from this world on Saturday, December 28, 2024. She was born on July 15, 1938, in Georgetown, Kentucky, to the late Sim and Lucille (Sebastian) Wheeler. She is also preceded in death by her beloved brother, Lewis Wheeler.

Bobbie leaves behind a cherished family that includes her loving children: Andy Fisher, Vicki (Brian) Desilets, Wendy (Blaine) Hart, Scott (Kim) Fisher, and Alan Wheeler. She was a proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren and a joyful great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Bobbie embodied resilience and strength; she was the true definition of a matriarch. With a dedicated career at Raytheon Missile Systems, she exemplified hard work and commitment. Upon retiring, Bobbie embraced her passions with open arms—cheering for her U of L Cardinals, nurturing her garden, losing herself in the pages of a good book, and exploring new places. Her warm and welcoming spirit made her a friend to all, always ready for a conversation or a kind word.

Above all, Bobbie took immense pride in her family, considering her most significant accomplishment to be the raising of her four children, all of whom became nurses—a testament to her nurturing nature and dedication.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM. Bobbie will be laid to rest privately at Evergreen Cemetery.
