Barbara departed this life 2 months and 8 days following her 65th birthday. Barbara was a faithful member of the Greater Salem Baptist Church singing in the Mass Choir for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Mary Pitts.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Michele Abernathy; grandchildren, Tella, Kayionna "Katie", Kenadee and Kai'Lynn; sisters, Linda Torain, Louise Mansfield, Elizabeth Everett, Donna Matlock, Stephanie Bush and Amanda Newby; brothers, Harrison Bush and Tommy White; great-niece, Aleia; great-nephew, Kadyn and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 12pm-1pm with a celebration of Barbara's life beginning at 1pm.
