Barbara A.(Mannen) Schmelz

Barbara A. (Mannen) Schmelz, 72, loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, of Lanesville passed away on November 24, 2011 with her entire family at her side. She had such a great sense of humor and was adored by all who met her. Barbara enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville.

Barbara was born on December 14, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Harry and Anna (Hoch) Mannen. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Harry "Junie," Bob and Frank Mannen

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Leroy A. Schmelz; children, Denise Monyhan, Bill Harold (Sandy), Vickie Deluna (Joe), Theresa Wright (Troy); 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11 AM to 6 PM on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Her Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM on Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church (2500 St. Mary's Dr. NE, Lanesville) followed by burial in the church cemetery.
