Arthur H. Payne, 77, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Arthur worked at Equifax for 42 years as a regional manager before his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed drag racing, golfing, working on cars, anything to do with Mustang cars, and most importantly, spending time with family.
He was born on December 20, 1946, in New Hampton, Iowa, to Doyle and Mildred (Christopherson) Payne. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Ashley Payne.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jerrilyn "Lynn" Payne; three daughters, Dena Sheler, Shannon Payne, and Natalie (Frankie) Jones; grandchildren, Tyler, Leigha, Blake, Brennan, Christian, Sophia, Nicolas, Mia, and Alexa; great grandchild, Remi; and siblings, Charlie (Vinnie) Payne, Charlene Frederiksen, Becky Payne, Tina (Tim) Litzkow, Sherry Payne, and Kim (Ron) Gardner.
In honor of Arthur's wishes, cremation has been chosen by his family in addition to a private memorial, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions-New Albany was entrusted with his care.
