Arthur "Art" McCracken

Arthur Harold McCracken, 66, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away in his sleep on December 24, 2024. A devoted Christian, Arthur embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. He cherished fishing, camping, and basketball, and most importantly, he loved spending quality time with his family, especially his daughter Cynthia, aka "His Spark". Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Arthur had a gift for making others laugh and bringing joy to those around him. His beloved dog, Max, was already there to greet him at heavens door, a loyal companion in all of his adventures.

Born on March 18, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky, Arthur was the son of the late Columbus and Betty (Kemper) McCracken. He is preceded in death by his father, Columbus Wilbert McCracken, Sr.; mother, Betty Alice McCracken; and siblings, Columbus W. McCracken, Jr., Mary Lou Meadows, and Robert McCracken.

Arthur is survived by his loving family, including his daughter, Cynthia Marie (Andy Capito) McCracken; step-daughter, Melissa Holcomb; ex-wife and dear friend, Deanna McCracken; siblings, William (Beverly) McCracken, Patricia (Richard) Busam, and Carol (Dwayne) Hagan; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. His funeral service will take place at 6:00 PM that same evening at the chapel.
