Armita "Jean" (Broadus) Brishaber, 91, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020. Jean loved being with her family, playing cards, cooking, doing embroidery, and entertaining anyone who visited.
She was born on December 16, 1928 in Speed, Indiana to the late Herman and Ethel (Briner) Broadus. Along with her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce G. Brishaber; siblings, Betty Grimm, Eltheda "Sis" Sellers, Jimmy Broadus, Juanita Neville, Ardith Ann Jennings and Patrick Broadus; daughter-in-law, Jean Brishaber; and son-in-law, Ben Couch.
Jean is survived by her loving children, Patty Couch, Robert Brishaber, Bruce (Marian) Brishaber, Terry (Ann) Brishaber, Vickie (Bob) Traughber, and Debbie Meredith; siblings, Ivan "Abe" (Goldie) Broadus, Bernard (Emila) Broadus, and Ronald (Roberta) Broadus; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Service will be kept private. She will be laid to rest in the Kraft Graceland Memorial Gardens in New Albany.
The family requests that contributions in Jean's memory be made to the J. B. Ogle Animal Shelter in Jeffersonville or the New Albany-Floyd County Animal Shelter in New Albany..
