Arla June Smith Bray, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023.
She was born on January 9, 1943 in Morgantown, Kentucky. Arla worked for Standard Oil/Chevron and JCPS where she retired. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Middletown. During her life she found joy in playing the piano and singing in the choir at the various churches she attended. Arla loved people and getting to know them, whether she was at a restaurant, grocery store, or any where in public.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, George B. Bray; parents, Warner and Wanda Smith; sister, Angela Smith Jenkins and Audrey Smith; and brother, Eldridge Smith .
Arla is survived by her daughter, Andrea Bray; son, Christian Bray (Laura); grandchildren, Amy Cooper (Mark), Nicholas Curry (Yesenia); Peyton Bray; Jonathan Curry, Alexa Bray, and Emily Bray.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 4:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Middletown, (11721 Main St, Middletown, KY 40243) with reception to follow the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Arla's memory be made to First Baptist Church of Middletown Building Fund.
