Anthony W. Schmitt, Sr.

Anthony Wayne Schmitt, Sr., 59, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. Anthony was formerly employed by Huncilman Metal Specialist in New Albany and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany. He was a Providence High School graduate of 1968.

Anthony was born on December 29, 1950 in New Albany, Indiana, to Albert Schmitt of Louisville and the late Martha (Diezeman) Schmitt. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bret Schmitt.

Anthony is survived by his children, Anthony Wayne Schmitt, Jr and his wife Crystal of Charlestown, Steven Joseph Schmitt of Greenville and Lisa Marie Jutz of New Albany; grandchildren, Anthony Wayne Schmitt, III and Austen Lee Jutz; brothers, Dwight Schmitt of Pekin, Albert Schmitt of New Albany and Andrew Schmitt of New Albany; sister, Cindy Martin and her husband Mike of Ramsey.

Visitation will be from 1 PM to 8 PM on Monday, August 30, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). His funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany with burial to follow at St. Mary's Navilleton Catholic Cemetery in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
