Anthony "Tony" I. O'Daniel, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
He was born on April 5, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John H. and Josephine E. (Boone) O'Daniel. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip, Morris, John, nieces, Shannon O'Daniel, Leah McMillen, nephews, Josh O'Daniel, Matthew O'Daniel and Phillip Jones
Tony was the seventh of eleven siblings. Tony was well loved by his family, numerous friends and was an avid dog lover.
He was a combat veteran of Vietnam entering in 1969 and celebrated 25 years of sobriety through his friends at AA.
Tony is survived by his loving siblings, Theresa Genevieve Prestigiacomo (Jamie), Mary Ann "Annie" McDonald (Terry), Mary Deanna O'Daniel, James Edward O'Daniel (Nickie), Margaret "Marty" Jane Jones, Dennis Patrick "Pat" O'Daniel, William Lawrence "Bill" O'Daniel (Angela) and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at 10:30 am on Friday, September 8, 2023 at St. James Catholic Church (1826 Edenside Ave, Louisville, KY 40204). Burial will be held at a later date.
Guests are invited to a celebration of Life after the service at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 1520 Hepburn Ave. Louisville, KY 40204 in the Goetz Center.
The family requests that contributions in Tony's memory be made to Disabled American Veterans Association and/or Kentucky Humane Society.
