Anna Marie (Hoehn) Schellenberger, 96, passed away on March 5, 2012 in New Albany. A long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany and a former member of St. Mary Lanesville Catholic Church, she was active in the Holy Family Marian and Quilters Guilds. Anna Marie made rosaries for Rosary Makers in Louisville who provided rosaries for various missions throughout the world. She crocheted beautiful baby afghans and stitched handmade quilts for St. Elizabeth-Catholic Charities in New Albany and made lap covers for residents of Providence Retirement Home. Well into her 90's, Anna Marie volunteered at many functions of the Second Street Neighborhood Association in Louisville.
Anna Marie was born on June 29, 1915, in Indianapolis to the late George and Ida (Reibel) Hoehn. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George M. Schellenberger; son, Carl Schellenberger; brother, Walter Hoehn; and sister, Frances Schellenberger.
She is survived by her children, Paul Schellenberger (Jean), Dennis Schellenberger, John Schellenberger (Anita), Mary Baker (Jerry), and Jo Ann Lockhart (Zane); grandchildren, Melissa Riley (Bryan), Adam Schellenberger (Nikki), Heather, Jill, and Julie Schellenberger, Emily Harris (Matt), Sonya Lockhart, and Angelina Lockhart (fiancé, Eric); and great grandchildren, Edward and Mackenzie.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Rosary Service at 7 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church (129 West Daisy Lane, New Albany) with burial to follow at St. Mary Lanesville Catholic Cemetery.
