Anna Laura(Mayfield) Schad

Anna L. (Mayfield) Schad, 92, of Memphis, Indiana passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. She was a member of St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church, where she had also been active in the Ladies Club. Anna was also a former member of the Pioneers of America and the VFW Post 1693 Hobart Beach Ladies Auxiliary.
Anna was born on August 8, 1921 in New Albany to the late Orville E., Sr. and Emma (Graham) Mayfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman J. Schad; siblings, Harry Mayfield, Melvin Mayfield, Georgia Kitterman Zippin, and Donna Scrogham.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Schad (Sandy); grandchildren, Andrew Schad (Alissa), Denise Schad; siblings, Orville Mayfield, Jr. (Betty), Alice Faith; brother-in-law, Lloyd Scrogham; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 PM Friday, March 14 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM at St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church (2605 St. Joe Road West, Sellersburg) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
