Anna Catherine King Moorman was born to the late Henry Moorman and Catherine Hayden in Louisville, Jefferson County on February 15, 1930. She was the only child, proceeded in death by her sons, Albert Ridgeway Webb, Abraham King, Jr. and Everett W. King and her mother, Catherine Hayden. She is survived by her daughter, Chris Bradford; sons, Christopher A. King, Ronald E. King, Frederick M. King and Barry F. King.
At 93, Anna leaves behind, but not forgotten, grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, church family, neighbors and friends.
Anna was baptized at Saint Augustine Catholic Church in Louisville, Kentucky, where she was an active member until her health gave way.
Her employment history is as follows: volunteered at Opportunity Industrialization Center (O.I.C) at Saint Peter Claver Old School Building as an office worker. From there she attended training at Saint Charles on Chestnut Street to become a secretary in the Hepburn Building. She was hired at the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, IN, packing books. She left there and was hired by the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a counselor at Lynnwood Treatment Center where she counseled juvenile girls with behavioral and emotional problems. When Lynnwood Treatment Center closed, she was transferred to Sixth and Cedar in the Juvenile Department where she retired.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of many, and to all who knew her, she is a reminder to Love the Lord.
Visitation will be Monday, January 29, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 6pm-8pm. A celebration of Anna's life will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church,1104 S 6th St, Louisville, KY 40203, beginning at 9:30am.
Anna will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY.
