Anna "Jean" O'Brien, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
She was born on April 23, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John R. Bell and Ethel Mae Schaffer Bell. Jean worked at J-town Preschool for 10 years. She volunteered at Priscilla's Place, Jeffersontown Area Ministries, and Dare to Care in Jeffersontown.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, James O'Brien; daughter, Dorothy Raymond (Stephen); son, Kevin O'Brien (Tess); daughter, Karen Fast; son, Michael O'Brien; son, Mark O'Brien (Melanie); daughter, Brigid Skidmore (Doug); sisters, Kathy Olen and Ginny Beck; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Drive). Her Funeral Service will be at 4:00 PM on Monday, at the funeral home with cremation to follow.
The family requests that contributions in Jean's memory be made to Hosparus Health of Louisville.
