Ann (Gettelfinger) Knable

Ann (Gettelfinger) Knable, 86, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on July 17, 2023. Strong in her faith, Ann was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in New Albany. Ann was a people-person, always open to making new friends, and she loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing cards, going shopping, and painting.

She was born on February 10, 1937, in Palmyra, Indiana, to John and Mary (Miller) Gettelfinger. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund "Junie" Knable; infant son, Matthew; and siblings, Donald Gettelfinger, John Gettelfinger, and Pauline Receveur.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Denise Konkle, Diane Lilly (Jeff), Donna Resch (Steve), and Tammy Gibson (Grant); brothers, Joe Gettelfinger (Marcia) and David Gettelfinger (Teresa); sisters, Hilda Thieneman, Marcella Stumler, Delores Striegel (Dick), and Mary Evelyn Sprigler; sisters-in-law, Susie, Nonnie, and Sis; grandchildren, Nathan Konkle (Michelle), Stacey Konkle (Jay), Jenna Loop (Chris), Chelsea Gardner (John), Megan Fennerty (Michael), Jacob Resch (Danielle), Amanda Mulvene (Jason), and Matt Gibson (Melissa); great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Knox, Lilly Anne, Grace, Rose, Theo, Charlie, Teddi Louise, George, Finn, Ada, Nolan, Nora, and Colton; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 11:00 a.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church (415 E. 8th Street, New Albany) with burial to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
