Anita DeSpain, 51, of Louisville, KY passed away suddenly September 13, 2013 at her residence.
Anita was born June 13, 1962 to Alton and Betty Mitchell. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved cooking. Anita had a big heart, always willing to help anyone in need, even offering the shirt off her back. She was like a second mom to many teens, offering her support and wisdom.
Anita is preceded in death by her husband LeRoy DeSpain; her father, Alton Mitchell Jr.; and one brother Matthew Mitchell.
She is survived by her son, Derrick DeSpain; her mother Betty Mitchell; two sisters and one brother; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held, Thursday, September 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). A celebration of her life will be Friday, September 20 at 11:00am, also at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Kosair Shriners or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
