Anita Darline Cook Jonason, born May 6, 1946 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, died October 18, 2022 in Louisville, Kentucky.
After attending Amarillo High School, Darline graduated from Ohio State University in 1968 with degrees in science and education, and subsequently earned a master's degree at the University of Louisville. During most of her adult life, Darline was a dedicated secondary-education teacher first in Columbus, Ohio and later in Louisville,Kentucky, including instruction at Kentucky Science Center. She taught as she loved her life, with a superb sense of humor, interest in the natural world, and respect for non conforming lives and diverse cultures.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kristofor Raymond Jonason; her father, Orville Paul Cook; her mother, Neva Mae McGee Cook; her niece, Sheri Howard and her brother in law, Billy Dwayne Stone.
She is survived by by her sister DeAnna Stone; niece; Kimmy Austin, grandchildren ; Kaelly (Jonason) Sidebottom, Hannah Jonason and Sophia Babichuk, former daughter-in-law Kelly DeLaney, two great-nephews; Joshua Austin and Tanner Howard, and a great-grandson ; Flynn Sidebottom.
A private memorial is limited to members of the immediate family.
