Anges "Marie" Barrett

Agnes "Marie" Barrett, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away surrounded by a host of loving family and friends on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Marie was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend. She had a very kind heart and loving spirit. She was born and raised in Bardstown KY, she has many stories from growing up in Bardstown, which is where she met her husband when she was working at the diner. She was a devoted catholic and she worked at Mike Linings for 25 years. Marie will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was born on November 26, 1940 in Bardstown, Kentucky to Samuel and Bridget (Devers) Newton. She is preceded in death by her Father, Samuel Newton, Mother, Bridget Newton, Husband, Robert Franklin Barrett, and 11 Brothers and Sisters.

Marie is survived by her loving family, children, Patricia Barrett, Samuel Barrett, Charlette Barrett, and Bridget (Joseph) Barrett; Daughter-In-Law, Beverly Barrett; Grandchildren, Matthew (Alexis) Jett, Thomas (Kayla) Barrett, Timothy Barrett, Ashley Barrett, Samantha Barrett, and Christopher Barrett; Great-Grandchildren, Grant Barrett, Kashdon Rogers-Barrett, Everleigh Jett, and Alaya Barrett; Foster Children, Joshua Suiter, Tony Suiter, and Danielle Suiter, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, KY.

The family requests that contributions in Marie's memory be made to Heart and Lung Association.
