Andrew "Andy" Willian Potts, 89, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 16, 2024.
He was born on January 18, 1935 in Crestwood, Kentucky to the late William and Bessie (Russell) Potts. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Lawrence Potts, Joe Potts, Russell Potts, John Potts, Billy Potts, Dot Estel King, Hazel Trummer and Willean Hundley.
Andy was raised in Crestwood where he worked at his father's nursery, Minish and Potts. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the South Korean War. He was a salesperson at Toyota and Chevrolet. Andy later dedicated his life to funeral service working at Pearson-Ratterman Brothers and Newcomer Funeral Service as a licensed Funeral Director, where he had a deep compassion for the families mourning their loss.
Andy had a servants heart and continued this ministry with his devotion to Hikes Point and Southeast Christian Church. Andy was a member of the Men's Saturday Morning Bible Study at Southeast Christian where he always loved showing up early to get the coffee and doughnuts ready for everyone. He had a deep love and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ, his church, family and friends.
In 2019 he and Bob Russell had the privilege to attend an Honor Flight to Washington, DC, where he joined his fellow Veterans to view the Honor Wall.
Andy was an avid UK Fan.
Andy is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Lynn Potts, daughter, Andrea Hudson (Banks), son, Dale Potts, grandchildren, Rylee Hudson, Maggie Hudson, Landon Hudson (Sam), Kyle Potts and Bekah Thompson and two great-grandsons, Maddox and Kaden. He is also survived by his sisters, Martha Long and Maryanna Stepp.
Sharon would like for everyone to know how much she was blessed with a amazing man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. We were all blessed to have shared the life of this incredible man, a good servant of Christ and he can rest in peace knowing his actions did not go unnoticed.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Chapel In The Woods, (1407 Moser Road Louisville, KY 40299) Graveside services will be private at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky.
