Andrea M. Carruthers

Carruthers, Andrea M., 69, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on May 22, 2016. She worked at Celanese Corp, and she retired from Jefferson County Public Schools. She was formerly a member of the First Church of Nazarene, and then she became a member of the Calvary Cathedral.

Andrea was born on February 23, 1947, in Henderson, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Carruthers Sr., father, George Compton; her grandson, Michael Compton; and two brothers, Jeffrey and Dennis Compton.

She is survived by her children, Michelle Beeler, Laticia Maddox and William Carruthers, Jr.; mother, Dorothy Bell; brother, Edward Compton; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home-Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY), with her funeral service to follow at 1 p.m on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Louisville Cemetery.
