Amy Trayner, 50, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Gma to her grandson, Grayson. Amy was a devoted dog mom to two angel fur babies, Pebbles and Jenny, as well as her fur baby, Daisy, who stayed by her side. Amy was a graduate of Meade County High School in 1992. She was an avid Louisville Cardinal, Pittsburg Steeler, Oklahoma Sooners, and NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching any sport on television with her family. Amy loved to spend time outdoors watching hummingbirds and looking at flowers. Amy bravely fought MS for eight years as well as cervical cancer in the last two months. She dedicated her time to making memories with her family, doing paint by number on her ipad as well as other games and completing jigsaw puzzles. Amy will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Amy is preceded in death by her grandmother, Jimmie Lee Chapman; grandfather, Richard "Bus" Chapman; nephew, John Jacobi Hager; and two fur babies, Pebbles and Jenny.
She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Paul "Pawpaw" Trayner; daughters, Brittney (Brian) Chapman, Taylor (Jason) Mattingly; step-sons, Chris Trayner, Jeremy (Sandy) Trayner; grandson, Grayson Kirby; granddaughter, Kaelin Trayner; bonus grandchildren, Carter, Elliott, Nora; one grandchild on the way; parents, Richard "Dickie" and Pam Chapman; biological mother, Sandra "Sandi" (Darrell) Cornett; siblings, Chris (Sandy) Chapman, Rhonda (JJ) Hager, Tammy (John) Hammers, Joey (Leslie) Medley, Michael Cornett, and Chris (Krystal) Cornett; fur baby and sidekick, Daisy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of Amy's life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial contributions in Amy's honor be made to Kentucky Humane Society, Shirley's Way, or the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
