Alvin Lewis Graf

Alvin Lewis Graf, 76, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, at his home in Memphis, Indiana.

Al was born on January 12, 1946, in New Albany, Indiana, the son of Albert Graf and Dorothy (Kleehamer) Graf. On September 27, 1969, he married Linda Hagest, who survives. Al retired from Merrick Printing in 2008 after 41 years of service. He proudly served in the Army Reserve in the 1960s. Al enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting with friends at the Chicken House, and spending time at Patoka Lake.

Along with his wife, Al is survived by three children and two grandchildren, Jeff (Sylinia) Graf of Sellersburg, Scott (Shawna) Graf of Pekin, Alissa (Andy) Graf-Schad of Floyds Knobs, Jace Graf of Sellersburg, and Ashton Bechtel of Sellersburg. Also surviving Al are two sisters, Alice Graf of Sellersburg and Sister Dorothy Graf OSB of Beech Grove; and three brothers, Larry Graf of Sellersburg, Cletus Graf of Sellersburg, and Elmer Graf of Memphis.

Al was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Martha Rake and Sister Mary Mark Graf OSB; and four brothers, Mark (Bud) Graf, Jim Graf, Ralph Graf, and Dennis Graf.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at St. John Paul II - St. Joe Hill Campus (2605 West St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, Indiana), with burial to follow at the church cemetery.
