Alvin Marion "My Pal Al" Brown, 76, of Palmyra, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018. He was an inspector at Tube Turns and served on the Harrison County Council for 16 years. Alvin enjoyed sporting clays with his family and friends.
He was born on November 14, 1941 in Quality, Kentucky to the late James and Mallie (Gibson) Brown. Alvin was also preceded in death by his step-father, Willie Smith.
Alvin is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Linda (Perkins) Brown; children, Jaime McAfee (Brad), Jeremy Brown; siblings, Clara Gregory, Dwight Smith (Brenda), Dottie Copler, Glenda Hoffman, Ron Brown (Nancy), Joyce Szarek (Mike), and Karen Brummitt.
Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and after 9 AM on Thursday. His Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM Thursday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Abundant Life Memorial Garden in New Albany.
